NBA: 3-3 (down $27)

MLB: 0-1 (down $100)
NCAA Basketball: 1-0 (up $165)
There was a point last night, when the Mets were up 2-0 with deGrom dominating, the Jets were beating up on the Sens 4-1, and the Nets were up 5 late against the Knicks, that I felt like the world’s greatest gambler. If you don’t know what I’m referring to, I picked the Mets and Jets to win by 2, and the Nets to win by 7. Then, it all came crashing down. The Mets decided to pull deGrom after just 77 pitches, leading to a typical Mets blown save. The Sens scored 2 in the 3rd to only lose by 1, and the Nets only ended up winning by 2. Those are the ups and downs of gambling. I felt great about those picks and still stand by them. Close isn’t good enough, though. I’m not here to give you losers. Luckily for me, last night wasn’t a complete disaster since my Baylor pick came through, but the time has come for me to go on a run. Let’s get that started tonight:
Today’s Bets- MLB:
Houston Astros -1.5 (on the road against Los Angeles Angels)
Bet $100, win $145
Here’s what we know about the Astros- their offense is really good. They’ve scored at least 6 runs every game so far. We also know that Greinke is really good, pitching 6 innings and allowing no runs in his first start of the season. He’s on the mound tonight. So, to sum it up- really good offense plus really good pitcher. And they’re coming off a loss. Sure, the Astros are slimy, but I like them to win by 2 tonight.
Boston Bruins -1.5 (on the road against Philadelphia Flyers)
Bet $100, win $185
I’ve made this bet over and over again- betting on a good team to beat the team that just beat them in a back to back. Boston will need to win by two for this to payout, but after a tough OT loss last night and needing a win to hold off the Flyers for a playoff spot, I like their chances here. Go look through Boston’s schedule this year, there are many examples of them beating the team who just beat them.
Miami Heat -5 (at home against Memphis Grizzlies)
Bet $100, win $91
I’ve gone cold on NBA picks so hopefully I can turn it around. Miami is hot right now, winners of 4 straight. They’re sort of starting to look like the team that made a run to the finals last year. Last year, though, they were dominant at home at 29-7 while they’ve been pretty average this season at 14-12. Let’s see if they can stay hot and start to play better at home.
