I really could not have chosen two polar opposite beer this week. The only similarity is that both have solid can designs. Let’s get into it:
The best part of this beer is the can- the mountains turn blue to show you when it’s cold enough to drink. Genius, really. That in itself lifts it above Bud Light. Otherwise, it’s a watery, not very flavourful beer. It’s a barbecue beer, a “lets get hammered” beer. In that sense, it does serve a purpose. Plus, you know, those blue mountains.

PLAYER COMPARABLE: D.J.LeMahieu– I figured I better choose a Colorado player for this comparison. Although he’s a Yankee now, LeMahieu spent his whole career playing at home in the thin Colorado air. I mentioned Coors Light being most useful at barbecues, just like LeMahieu is most useful at Coors Field- He’s a career .330 hitter at Coors Field, but just .264 on the road. Should you bring Coors Light to a beer tasting party? Should you count on LeMahieu to come up big on the road? No to both.
Whitewater Peanut Butter Shake:
Big fan of the can, really shows you what you’re getting yourself into. When I bought this beer, the guy at the cash essentially warned me that it was too sweet, and too peanut buttery. But I’m a man of the people, committed to reviewing every beer out there! As it turns out, this beer was a good, weird beer. I didn’t find it to be over the top in it’s sweetness. As far as the peanut butter taste goes, it’s wasn’t overpowering. Like I said, it’s a good, weird beer, emphasis on weird. It prides itself on being different, not the type of beer you’re drinking every Sunday night as you dread the return to work.

PLAYER COMPARABLE: Wang Zhen– Who? Wang Zhen is a great Olympian in the always entertaining sport of race-walking. He’s the 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist in the 20 KM event. So here you have a beer that’s good under the weird beer category, and an athlete that’s good in the weird sports category. This is the type of beer you’ll drink once or twice in your life, just like racewalking is something you only see every 4 years at the Olympics. If you’ve never watched the event, please give it a chance- it’s hilarious. And weird. Just like the beer.
